Aurora Ghigino is an Italian photographer working between Genoa and Paris. Photography entered her life at an early age, passed down through generations. What began as a passion gradually became a lifestyle and then a professional career.
She started her photographic education in Genoa at Studio Leone and later continued her training through courses organised by the University of Genoa, where she developed her technical skills and specialized in portrait photography. At the same time, she began working as a freelance photographer for cultural events and organizations throughout the city, including the Genoa International Music Youth Festival (GIMYF), the Amici di Paganini Association—through which she had the opportunity to work in Beijing, China—and several projects promoted by the Municipality of Genoa, including the city's New Year's Eve celebrations. From 2021 to 2025, Aurora worked aboard cruise ships, first as a photographer and later as Assistant Photo Manager. This experience allowed her to meet and work with people from different countries and cultures while developing both her artistic vision and leadership skills in a dynamic international environment. Driven by a desire to further refine her technical expertise and visual language, she decided to leave the cruise industry and continue her education in Paris. There, she joined the Speos x Polka program, an intensive professional course developed in collaboration with Polka Magazine, where she deepened her understanding of photojournalism, editorial photography, and visual storytelling.
Today, her work combines portraiture, documentary photography, event coverage, and visual narratives that explore people, places, and stories through a natural and intimate approach.
